About me
Dr. Timothy R. Krieg serves as the Director of Secondary Curriculum & Instruction for the School City of Hobart / Hobart University and teaches GENS 279 — The Capstone Experience for seniors earning an Associate Degree. A former high school English teacher and Department Chair, Tim has taught everything from 9th grade remedial English to dual credit and AP. Tim’s work lives at the intersection of learning, leadership, technology, and student experience. He is passionate about helping schools move beyond compliance toward commitment — building systems that are real, rooted, and relevant for the people they serve. Whether through curriculum design, early college pathways, responsible AI implementation, professional learning, or leadership development, Tim pushes educators to examine what they’ve inherited, question what has become automatic, and redesign learning around what students actually need. At the heart of his work is a simple belief: schools get better when we stop protecting routines and start creating conditions where deeper thinking is visible, valued, and owned. Tim and his wife, Brittney, a Dean of Students, live this work professionally and personally as their daughter prepares to begin preschool — a daily reminder that the future of education is not abstract. It is walking into classrooms right now.
