About me
Erin Rauscher is a graduate of Southridge High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University. Shortly after graduation, she began her teaching career in Washington, D.C., where she spent 9 years teaching middle school social studies, science, and language arts in inner-city schools. During her time in Washington, D.C., she was honored as the recipient of the 2007 Griffin Award for Visionary Educator from the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. Her educational journey continued with a Master's in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College and a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Purdue Global. She will also begin pursuing her Building Level Administration Licensure through Purdue University this Fall.
Following her return to Indiana, Erin took a brief hiatus from traditional education to pursue another passion, wellness and fitness. She founded her own yoga business and became a Certified Yoga School owner, training and teaching others through a program she developed herself. After seven successful years of business ownership, she returned to the field of education, bringing with her a unique perspective on mindfulness, leadership, and personal growth.
Today, Erin is completing her 5th year at Southridge High School. In her current role at Southridge High School, she serves as an academic counselor and dual credit instructor. She is a sponsor for Raider Ambassadors and the Newspaper Club. She also loves supporting Southridge Raider athletes and serves as an assistant coach for the girls' wrestling program- won their first Sectional this year! She loves her school community and is blessed to be a Raider.
Erin has been recognized for her leadership and dedication to students and education, including being named a 2023 Athena Award nominee, the Ivy Tech Community College Dual Credit Instructor of the Year in 2024-25 Evansville Campus, and the Ivy Tech Indiana Dual Credit Instructor of the Year in 2025-26 State of Indiana.
Outside of school, Erin enjoys being an active member of her community. She prides herself on being a lifelong learner who is always searching for an awe-inspiring novel or perhaps writing her own one day. She will participate in her 7th Ragnar Relay Race this August and will represent Team Milk at the Every Woman’s Marathon in New Orleans in February 2027. Erin and her husband, Dan, live on a sixth-generation dairy farm in southern Indiana. Together, they are raising two very active sons (middle schoolers), whom she adores.
