About me
I am a Professional School Counselor at Michigan City High School in Michigan City, Indiana, and have been employed by Michigan City Area Schools since 2004. In 2014, I became the School Counselor for Michigan City Early College High School.Originally from Gary, Indiana, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1994 and a Master of Science in Education and School Counseling in 2005, both from Purdue University Northwest in Hammond, Indiana. From 2017 to 2022, I also served as a limited-term lecturer at Purdue Northwest’s Hammond campus.I am passionate about helping students succeed. I support their academic, career, and social/emotional development and find great fulfillment in guiding them toward their goals. In recognition of my work, I received the Indiana School Counselor Association’s (ISCA) Exemplary High School Counselor Award in 2019.In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and exercising.
