About me
I am a Writing Specialist for Arsenal Technical High School's Kurt Vonnegut Youth Writing Center, one of the four centers housed in IPS high schools. Our center assists student with creative, academic, and career writing, including college applications, Early College assignments, and resumes. We also match students with tutors from all content areas, providing academic supports for students from all pathways.
This year marks my 22nd year in education; I have enjoyed teaching English in middle schools, high schools, trade schools, and universities. I am a proud graduate of Butler University (BA), Purdue University (MFA), and the University of Richmond (Teaching Licensure).
I am also the proud mother of a high school student and a rising sixth grader. We have recently adopted a Labrador mutt, and we are adjusting to life with a dog toddler.
